What you may not do
Don't use CallPorch to make or facilitate:
- Illegal calls or messages — collections work outside the rules, unlicensed practice of medicine or law, fraud, or anything regulators have specifically banned in your jurisdiction.
- Deceptive caller handling — claiming the assistant is a human, impersonating another business, pretending to be a government agency, or misrepresenting what a caller is agreeing to.
- Harassment — repeated calls or SMS after a caller has asked to stop, intimidation, or any pressure tactic intended to wear someone down.
- Discrimination — routing or qualification rules that screen callers on protected characteristics (race, religion, disability, national origin, etc.).
- Spam and unsolicited marketing — sending SMS to people who have not opted in, scraping numbers, or using the SMS channel for promotions instead of operational follow-up.
- Bypassing consent — disabling recording disclosures where two-party consent is required, ignoring STOP or do-not-contact entries, or moving a caller's data outside your workspace without permission.
- Emergency-line impersonation — implying that the assistant can dispatch 911-style help, or routing emergencies anywhere other than the on-call workflow your team has approved.
- Abuse of the platform — probing, reverse-engineering, or trying to extract another workspace's data.
What we expect from every workspace
- Configure call recording and SMS consent for the jurisdiction your callers live in.
- Keep your on-call workflow current — emergencies should reach a human, not a held slot.
- Review the queue. The assistant drafts; your staff signs off.
- Honor STOP, opt-outs, and deletion requests in a timely way.
How we enforce this
We investigate reports from callers, staff, regulators, and our own monitoring. Depending on severity we may warn the workspace owner, suspend specific features (outbound SMS, recording), or terminate the workspace.
For anything that puts a caller at risk — emergency-line impersonation, harassment, deceptive handling — we suspend first and discuss after.
Report a concern
If you are a caller who experienced something that looked wrong — or a workspace owner who spotted abuse — email privacy@callporch.co with the business you called and the date and time. We will reply within one business day.
